Maryland, Nimba, Cape Mount and Lofa Counties to host National County meet preliminary stages.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) of the Republic of Liberia has released the time table for the 2016/2017 National County Sports Meet.
According to Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Henry Younton, all is now set for this year’s edition of the National County Sports Meet to officially kick off on December 3. 2016. He said measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of match officials and followers of the National County meet. Minster Younton disclosed that the Ministry is holding discussions with the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and the Liberia National Police (LNP) to ensure full implementation of the security measures.
Meanwhile, this year’s sports meet will be hosted in Maryland, Nimba, Cape Mount and Lofa Counties.
Maryland will host Group one which is made up of Grand Kru, River Gee and Grand Gedeh counties, while Group Two will be hosted by Nimba County. Nimba, Sinoe, Montserrado and Rivercess counties will crack the nuts to qualify in this group.
One the otherhand, Grand Cape County will host defending champions Grand Bassa county as well as Bomi and Gbarpolu counties in Group Three, while Lofa will host Bong and Margibi counties in Group Four.
Eight teams will qualify from the preliminary stages of the competition -- four of which will play in Montserrado, while the other four will play in Grand Bassa County.
